Hannah Cowan, M.S., CCC-SLP, is thrilled to join the Elizabeth Academy team this year as the new speech-language pathologist! She has a Master of Science degree in Clinical Speech-Language Pathology from Northern Arizona University, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Whitworth University. Hannah also has her Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology.
Hannah has taken the last two years off of work to have two wonderful children who will be attending Elizabeth Academy this year, but worked as the SLP at Elizabeth Academy Upper School from 2021-2024. Although she will miss being able to spend so much time with her children, Hannah is excited to once again be a practicing SLP. She loves learning what skills students need to improve upon and working with them at their own pace and on their level to reach their personal goals. Hannah sees speech and language sessions as a constant puzzle in which student and therapist work together to determine what will be the most effective form of therapy for them. Because communication is used in all areas of life, students grow in their skills and confidence not just in the therapy session, but throughout their school day, and will continue to use their skills for the rest of their lives!
Outside of school, Hannah loves spending time with her family, swimming, playing board games, traveling, being in nature, dreaming of trips to the ocean and Disneyland, and singing along to any music she can find.
