Mr. Steve is your new music teacher! Steven started his career in elementary education as a para-educator in the 2011-2012 school year, teaching break-out groups and leading kids at recess and lunch. He caught the bug for teaching and started a family soon after. In 2014 he received the “Instructor of the Year” award as well as piloted the after-school music program as a cello teacher.
In 2020, Mr. Burk received his Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Utah. Steven now has 10 years of experience teaching music, the most recent of which required him to learn all the disciplines behind leading a Band, Jazz Band, Choir, Show Choir, Orchestra and Guitar class as well as general music K-12.
Steven is a father of 5 children, two of which were diagnosed with special needs. His wife and children love camping and hiking, playing music, board games and video games. Steven is also a fan of many super heroes and fantasy book series along with his eternal love of classical music. Mr. Burk is motivated by helping others and inspiring children to overcome their fears and embrace the beauties of life with joy.
