Happy New Year!

Twenty-Twenty-Four blustered in with whirls of wondrous snow!

And now the fun begins. We hope you enjoyed a happy holiday break and are ready for a whirlwind of a wonderful year ahead!

First, we have a long weekend with Teacher Workday, Friday, January 12th, followed by no school on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 15th.

Then, January is the month to begin preparations for the upcoming school year. The Continuing Enrollment priority window (for current students) will close on January 12th (so be sure your forms have been turned in!) and the Open Enrollment Window (filling any vacancies for new students) will begin Tuesday, January 16th, running through Friday, February 16th. If you have siblings to enroll or friends who would like to join our school community, be sure to have the new applicants follow our admissions process during this window of time to ensure the best chance for entrance into our school. New applicant screenings will be held Friday and Saturday, February 23rd and 24th. And if the price of tuition is a concern for our private school, check out our booth at the free UEFA Vendor/School Fair, this Saturday, January 13th, 1:00pm-4:00pm at Juan Diego High School.

Our next Parent Education Night will be a virtual event, held Thursday, January 18th, at 7:00pm. The topic will be Toilet Learning the Montessori Way, presented by our former Toddler Specialist Tarina Cutler. If you have a child going through this stage of development, this an invaluable presentation you won’t want to miss!

Looking ahead, mark your calendar for Parent Teacher Conferences coming up Thursday and Friday, February 15th and 16th. Teacher Workday will be earlier that week on Wednesday, February 14th, and following Parent Teacher Conferences is Presidents’ Day Monday, February 19th, so there will be a long break from school for students during this time. During Parent Teacher Conferences, the Primary School will host an Usborne Book Fair. You can stop by the school and find books for your student or purchase books from the teacher wish lists.

Hang onto your hats and bundle up for the cold! Winter weather doesn’t stop us from enjoying our time outside, nor does it slow us down inside the classroom. We are always fired up for learning and warm with appreciation for you!

Brightly,
Elizabeth Academy Executive Team

2024-2025 School Year

Continuing Enrollment-Currently Enrolled Students

Every year we open up continuing enrollment to our current families. This gives our current families priority for the 2024-2025 school year. Continuing enrollment packets are due by Friday, January 12th. To complete your continuing enrollment packet follow these steps.

  • Please go to FACTS Family Portal

  • Type in your username and password and district code of EA-UT.

  • Go to left-side Navigation Menu

  • Click on Apply/Enroll

  • Click on Enrollment/Reenrollment

Would you like to enroll a sibling for the 2024-2025 school year?

Siblings not currently enrolled are new students to Elizabeth Academy. We do give priority to these siblings if we have spaces available. You can apply in your family portal starting on January 16th, 2024. We highly encourage you to apply as early as possible, as spots fill quickly.

Tuition Assistance Applications are due February 29th, 2024

What to know about tuition assistance at Elizabeth Academy.

  • Decisions are made during the first two weeks of March.

  • Award letters will be sent to families the week prior to Spring Break.

  • We do not award assistance at the Infant, Toddler, or Early Childhood program levels.

  • We have a tuition assistance committee that determines awards based on each family's situation.

  • Tuition assistance awards are based on financial need, and the adjusted gross income threshold to be eligible is generally $100,000 and takes into account tuition and therapy expenses, number of children enrolled, program level, etc.

Check out UEFA support and come see our booth at the VEFA Vendor/School fair, Saturday, January 13th 1:00-4:00pm at Juan Diego High School.

First and foremost, please know that Elizabeth Academy aims to keep schools open whenever possible. Snow storms are a reality in the Salt Lake Valley, and though winter weather may present challenges, start time delays and snow days are rare.

If you do not receive a notification of a start time delay or snow day, please plan on school being open as usual.

We trust parents to make the ultimate call when it comes to their child’s safety. Not all streets are plowed at the same time, and snow totals may differ from region to region. If you do not think it is safe to send or take your student(s) to school during inclement weather, please keep them home. We will be lenient regarding tardiness and absences during winter weather.

How You Will be Notified of Changes Due to Weather

To ensure that parents are notified of changes to school hours, we use multiple communication methods. The following are ways we will communicate weather-related information:

Text Message Alert
Email
Social Media Posts (Facebook and Instagram)
School Websites

If you do not feel that you regularly receive school communications, please contact the administrative team at your campus via one of the following emails: primaryadmin@elizabethacademy.com OR secondaryadmin@elizabethacademy.com.

Considerations for School Closures and Late Starts

Prior to and during a snowstorm, we receive up-to-date reports on road conditions and the status of our buildings. We will keep schools open if these reports indicate teachers and staff can safely arrive to work, students can safely be transported, and we can open and operate our buildings.
