Dear Families,

The year is marching on, beating path at a rapid pace, with much behind us but even more exciting things ahead. Some of our students in upper elementary and middle school had the exhilarating experience of traveling to Washington, DC and participating in Montessori Model UN in February. And we have our Cultural Fair, Pi Day, World Down Syndrome Day and Spring Break still to come in March! Ahead of us in April, we have the secondary Spring trips and our school play, Cinderella! Then it’s May with all our momentous end-of-year events. Check out the calendar to keep in step these last three months as we keep marching forth, learning in style, and having fun to the finish!

If you haven’t heard, we have selected a new Principal for the Primary campus next year and appointed a Principal for the Secondary campus! This was done with the support of staff members and parents from our school community as well as the executive team and board members. Nate Abbott will lead the Primary campus as Principal and Sofia Rigolon will lead as Principal at the Secondary campus. Along with the executive team, Nate and Sofia have been in the process of selecting their Assistant Principals for each campus. We plan to have contracts signed by mid-March. We had some stellar candidates apply for both Principal and Assistant Principal positions and we are confident that our whole school community will be thrilled with all the selections for school leadership next year!

Marching on,
Elizabeth Academy Staff

Montessori Model United Nations:

A round of applause for our Montessori Model UN team of upper elementary and middle school students! They recently returned from New York after participating in a transformative experience filled with academic, social, and practical learning. The Montessori Model UN brings together schools from around the world in a collaborative spirit of real-world problem-solving and global awareness.

Special thanks to Alice Pope for inspiring our participation in MMUN and to Natalie Buie for being a constant source of support for our students. We extend our gratitude to the parents of the delegates for their invaluable time and resources that made this trip possible. A huge shout-out to the Sorenson Legacy Foundation for their generous grant, covering a substantial portion of travel expenses for both delegates and teachers. Congratulations to our outstanding delegates for representing Elizabeth Academy with decorum and professionalism – we are immensely proud of your achievements!

This year, we're excited to broaden our horizons by featuring two ancient civilizations, offering a unique educational opportunity. Guests are invited to stroll through the classrooms, engaging firsthand with the traditions, histories, and customs showcased by our dedicated school community.

  • Calling all parents! Get ready to step back into the Montessori environment and witness the incredible progress your child has made. We will be sending out information soon, inviting you to visit the classrooms, observe the learning process, and and witness the growth and development of your child firsthand. We look forward to welcoming you back into our learning spaces!
