Sherry Spence - Lead Teacher
Sherry Spence has been working in the Montessori community for 17 years and believes in the Montessori philosophy of education. She received her first Montessori certification from World Montessori in 1995 and has worked as the lead teacher at Oakridge Elementary in the Montessori classroom for the past 15 years. During Sherry's time at Oakridge, she completed her advanced Montessori degree through MEPI (Montessori Education Programs International). Sherry has three children and enjoys working in her garden, taking walks and spending time with her family.

Makenzie Crump - Special Educator
Makenzie recently graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Special Education. She has had a passion for Special Education since she was a peer tutor in Junior High School. She has worked in many different areas of the field since then, including the Special Olympics, group homes, public school settings and special needs mutual. Makenzie is so impressed with the inclusion that all children get to experience at the Elizabeth Academy and is excited to be a part of it.

Margie Barton - Assistant (AM)
Margie Barton is the AM assistant in Classroom 1 with Miss Sherry. She has been working in Montessori for five years, but this is her first year at the Elizabeth Academy. She is currently working towards her Early Childhood Certification. Margie the Mother of four boys, with her youngest attending Elizabeth Academy in the Emerging Classroom. Margie feels privileged to be working with her team at the Elizabeth Academy. She loves working with children and seeing them succeed.

Chelsi Harris - Assistant (PM)
Chelsi Harris is currently attending college to receive her degree in Special Education. She is also working towards her Early Childhood Montessori certification. This is Chelsi's fifth year working in Montessori, but her first year here at Elizabeth Academy. Chelsi taught at Oakridge Montessori along with Sherry Spence and Margie Barton. Chelsi loves working closely with children and seeing them succeed. She wants nothing but the best for every child in her classsroom and is excited to get to know each one of them as an individual.

Tamara Lane - Lead Teacher
Tamara Lane relocated from Atlanta, Georgia to be a part of the Elizabeth Academy family. She has several years of experience as a Montessori lead teacher in a private school setting. Tamara loves the Montessori philosophy and loves to see it at work. She likes teaching Early Childhood because she believes that it is the foundation and the beginning of a child’s lifelong journey of learning. This is a time when we can instill the love of learning, respect, grace and courtesy in our children. Tamara was raised a Military child and has lived in many places around the world including Texas, Florida, Panama and Germany. Teaching is her passion, and believes that children can change the world if we teach them how to do so.

Michelle Jackson - Assistant
Miss Michelle is a co-teacher with Miss Tamara in the Early Childhood Classroom 2. She graduated with a B.S. degree in Family, Consumer, and Human Development from Utah State University in May of 2010. She is currently working toward her certification as a Child Life Specialist. Michelle loves running, reading, snowboarding, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoys working with children and is excited to be a part of the Elizabeth Academy team!
