A child shall lead us.  The Elizabeth Academy plans to follow Lauren Elizabeth’s lead.  Lauren entered the last year of the Early Childhood Program in the Fall of 2009.  In a traditional school, this would be called Kindergarten.  We anticipate adding at least one classroom of the next level in the Montessori program to our school beginning in the Fall of 2010.  This is the Elementary I Program; ages 6-9.  As the current children enrolled grow and develop, we would also like to add the next level, the Elementary II Program; ages 9-12.  This will encompass the needs of children ages 3-12, or Preschool- Sixth grade.  Ideally, another level would be added, the Adolescent Program which includes ages 12-15.  It is our belief that any child (disabled or not) who has had a proper Montessori education should adapt easily to any traditional high school program. If needed, we intend to assist them for a fluid transition.  We do not plan to offer programs beyond this level.

We hope for collaboration with the school districts.  We hope to be copied!  We hope that parents and educators will come and SEE what we do!  Take it home or to your classroom.  Apply it.  Invest.  We have an amazing model in its embryonic mode.  Watch.  Emulate and adapt.  Grow with us.  That’s the exciting part.   We don’t know where it ends.  We can only imagine the possibilities.  We are working to make Montessori accreditation more accessible, collaborating with the local universities about the possibility of having Montessori certification available there.  We are also looking to broaden our reach to access more children either through collaboration with the districts, applying for a charter or franchising. This is not just an effort to educate the children.  It is also an education and a re-education for adults.  And we will follow the child.
